Among the first restaurants I wanted to review, back when the blog was starting out, was Top Tea Cafe. It’s located a few steps away from the Bioessence Gold spa and Filipino restaurant Cabalen, just across Examiner Street. I’m sure you won’t miss it, as Top Tea is curiously the odd one out among the establishments at the building where it’s located.
Don’t let the name fool you, as Top Tea Cafe isn’t only limited to its namesake. It serves a wide variety of tea-based and coffee-based drinks, light snacks, sandwiches, and rice meals—with the last one slowly being a popular choice of customers. The cafe’s color scheme revolves around light pastel green, orange, and white. Relaxing, energizing, and neutral all at the same time, without being too stressful on the eyes.
Various sections in the cafe’s dining area cater to different customers, which is a plus. Those who prefer a relaxing read will enjoy the rectangular sofas at the side of the cafe, with a stack of magazines for browsing. Groups can enjoy conversations over tea at the circular sofas near the counter. And for those who prefer privacy, a counter and stools are positioned at the right side of the wall for this purpose.
CJ and I have visited this place a number of times now, even before we were officially together. There’s a good reason for us to do so—it’s a place perfect for unwinding after a long day at work, amidst the busy traffic of West Avenue.
I’ll stop at this point for this entry’s pictures; do like their Facebook page at this link. Until the next review, bon appetit.
