Well, what do you know…it’s been two years ever since I started this blog, and look at it now. I didn’t expect making it this far—especially after being discouraged a number of times already. I don’t have enough page views and exposure, I haven’t really made anything significant in my writing during college (despite being a creative writing major), and I have yet to be a published (or Palanca-winning) author.
But just like that song by The Beatles, you just have to let it be.
I may not have a lot of hits and my blog may not be a high-ranking one, but I have no problems creating my own content – and on my own terms, to boot. I don’t depend on press releases or sponsored posts to keep the blog up and running. I’ve understood the meaning of writing for one’s self and not minding what others say about your work. Most of all, I’ve learned that having a Palanca under your belt doesn’t define you as a writer – thanks to Mr. Butch Dalisay. As long as you enjoy your craft, no matter what medium, all is well and good. For a project that I mainly intended as a way to make up for lost time, I’m personally surprised that this blog would reach two years and become a full-time interest of mine.
Alongside the blog’s progress through those two years, I can proudly say that I’ve also changed as a person. From a former cosplayer who no longer believed that he’ll make it in life, to a full-time blogger who’s happy with everything he has. I still think I’m a lone wolf at times, but now I know there’s someone walking right beside me. Truly, a change of mindset—coupled with stepping up the clothes game and learning how to drive—worked a lot of wonders. I’ve got a long way to go, but at least there’s some progress.
And for that, let me say these two words to everyone reading this blog and taking their time to look around: THANK YOU. I wouldn’t make it this far without you guys. I get by with a little help from my friends – just like another Beatles hit, and I indeed got by.
In line with my second anniversary, I’d like to take a short yet well-deserved break from writing for the blog. I’m taking a breather and I’ll be catching up with some pending tasks here. I’ve got a lot of pictures that need post-processing, and ideas that need to be put down on paper. Alongside that, I’ll step back and enjoy some moments away from the laptop screen—and I encourage you to do the same.
See you soon.
Happy WordPress anniversary, Monch!

Thanks 🙂 If you’re passionate about something, you won’t mind the criticism and the negative thoughts – you’ll carry on no matter what. 😉
